Dave Sampson: Your Customer's First Five Minutes: Why They're the Only Ones that Matter

  • Bio: Dave Sampson helps bring emerging technologies to market. He recently joined Sampa as the VP of Marketing, and has over fifteen years’ experience developing strategies, managing products and building brands for early-stage technology companies. Dave serves as an advisor to several startups and teaches marketing for the University of Washington’s Software Product Management Certificate Program. He holds a BA in Social Philosophy from Marquette University and an MBA from the University of Washington.

Tony Wright: Creating Killing Products: Settling on an Idea, Choosing your Path, and 'Making it Big'

  • Bio: Tony Wright is the co-founder and CEO of RescueTime, where he does UI design, PR, marketing, (lousy) copywriting, and some light front-end coding. He founded the company in September of 2007 with a vision to allow individuals and businesses to understand how they spend their time and to help them spend it more effectively. Tony and the RescueTeam recently completed a 3 month stint at YCombinator (a startup incubation program in Silicon Valley). Prior to RescueTime, Tony founded a web startup in the recruiting space (called Jobby), which was acquired by Jobster.com in 2006. Tony served as Director of Product Development at Jobster for 1 year. Before his relatively recent forays into product startups, Tony built a custom web app consultancy with 15ish employees over a period of 6 years, which he sold in 2005. Tony holds a B.S. in Psychology from Washington College.
