Using email for ad-hoc tasks and projects is inherently broken. Collaborating over files is clumsy, forcing you to save, edit, and attach the file to modify it; file edits get lost as file versions proliferate and splinter across email threads; bringing someone else in to help often requires searching through your email and document archives to give them context and information that’s now lost and must be rediscovered; new people are rarely included in the right conversations, so you end up policing the email threads, forwarding all relevant messages.
